'Chic Party Eve'

on | | 44 comments
It's a good time to show some of my photo shoots but firstly I collected some inspirational ways to wear my dress. On 30th January I'm having a wedding and I'll wear this dress (The one I show below). Because is a lunch wedding and not a dinner one (like it is traditional in Spain). I've decided to wear a not-long dress (besides, she is not a close friend or a relative). The problem is that on 30th January is too cool to go just with the dress.
I took this inspirational outfits from BCBG MAXZRIA, because my dress is by them. I knew the brand last summer in Miami and I bought two beautiful dresses I like so much.
I've thought to wear the dress with opaque black tights and booties (or maybe shoes like in the last picture.. What do you think?)
About outwear ... I'm wearing a black long coat but also want something more simple, less warm, so when I remove the coat does not stay in suspenders. (I do not know if my English is clear ;P).
Maybe a shawl (it is useful also for my neck) or a shiny blazer or .... I don't know!! ;P
Well... I have enough time to decided.
I also thought about a black clutch but in some of the outfits the clutch is blue (like my dress). I think I prefer a black one. And you?

btw... I wish you all a Happy New Year's Eve!!!

inspiration + awards

on | | 35 comments

I would like to thank Myriam from Mode-moi-selle for the award she gave me on November (which I forgot to do it before ;P), and to Ligeia from Fashion Trash for her award too.

So I have to choose a song for all you, and because it is Christmas I have chosen 'All I want for Christmas is you' =).
Also, I have to say seven things about me... and here they are:
  1. I have just had a nephew (last week) and I am drooling by him ;P. I also have a niece who is two years old.
  2. I have two older brother (more than 10 years older than me!! :-O), so now I am the last one who live with my parents.
  3. I love jazz and I like to listen to it when I need to relax.
  4. I was blonde for 5 or 6 years!!
  5. I am studying a engineering and people doest understand I like fashion too (they usually are really technical and weird students and one of my wishes is to meet a fashionable girl who is also a engineering ;P).
  6. I have worked as a model a few times and like a stewardess image for several events but my studies aren't very compatible with this as I don't have enough time. (Although, some times I regret not to spend more time doing this kind of jobs which I love and enjoy so much).
  7. I am the tallest of my friends, I am 5' 11'' (1.8 m) and I don't like because I love to wear high heels and they don't!

Now, I have to choose 7 blogs to give the last award and it is quite difficult because I think all your blogs should be given the 'beautiful blog' award, but because I have to chose this are the ones I have selected...

Dexter - The high heel times-
Lia - Strawberry Fields Forever-
Miryam - Mode-moi-selle-
Beth -Beneath the Chrystal Stars-
Chiara - Loving Chiaradeanna-
Jacqueline - Fashion Snag -
Rebecca - The Clothes Horse-

Hope you're having a magician Christmas and thank you for all your beautiful comments as I really appreciate them and they make happy =).

P.S. The shoe's shoots are not mine but I do not know who are the authors, so if you are the author, let me know and I don't have any problem to link you or take out the photo.

-Night Before Christmas-

on | | 37 comments

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddle, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

poem by Clement Clarke Moore.

I was wearing... vintage jumper (60's from my mum), Zara blazer, Primark boots, H&M leather skirt, New Yorker belt.

Bold Shoulders

on | | 23 comments

Soft and billowing or big and dramatic, shoulders take a starring role this season...

However everybody know some of them you would not brave enough to wear them. My dress has soft bold shoulders (although it is not very appreciate in the photos because of the dark colour of the dress), I like it so much and they are not as exaggeratedly marked as the catwalk ones. As you know they must be more creative than clothes that normal people wear on the street.

Hope you like it and I appreciate so much your beautiful comments as they always draw me a smile :)

Everybody's free ...

... enjoy the power and beauty of your youth, oh never mind,
you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded...

... don’t worry about the future, or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.

The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blind side you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts,
don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours

Floss

Don’t waste your time on jealousy, sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind,
the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself...

What ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either
Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.

Enjoy your body, use it every way you can, don’t be afraid of it,

or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own

Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room...

Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get,
the more you need the people you knew when you were young...

Brother and sister together we'll make it through
Someday a spirit will take you and guide you there
I know you've been hurtin, but I've been waitin' to be there for you
And I'll be there just helping you out whenever I can
Everybody's free oh yeah
Everybody's free oh yeah

Baz Luhrmann lyrics
